The household controller, shown in Figure 1a, contains a means for measuring the market price for electricity from an externally supplied signal, the actual load of the household (state of storage and rate of discharge), current weather (insolation, wind speed and direction, temperature and barometric pressure), and available power from on-site generation sources.
